About Us

We are a not for profit Community Legal Service, independent of Government and we are committed to working towards a fairer and more just society.

We provide free legal advice, information and assistance to the residents of the South East of South Australia, focusing on areas of unmet legal need.

We not only provide legal service to individuals but we work within the community to provide preventative services such as community development, community legal education and law and policy reform projects all of which inform, strengthen and empower the people we serve.

SECLS is funded by the Commonwealth Attorney-General's Department and receives support from the City of Mount Gambier.

SECLS is a member of the National Association of Community Legal Services.

Board

SECLS is supervised by a voluntary independent Board, consisting of members of the Community from varying backgrounds - education, law, social welfare, Aboriginal and other community organisations.
